I hope everyone will have a wonderful Independence Day. I am Lynne Roth Bostic, and it is an honor to be your new Superintendent of Pocahontas County Schools. I was awarded the opportunity to work with, and support, the best of West Virginia when Mr. Terrence Beam resigned to join Nicholas County Schools as their new Superintendent. For the past three years, I have been your Director of Federal Programs as well as Curriculum and Instruction.
I aim to be the type of leader that John Quincy Adams defines, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” How will we do that? We will continue to build professional learning communities for all staff, support our instructional leaders at each of our five schools, and create an insight group representing all stakeholders including staff, parents, community members, and businesses.
I also plan to reach out to our local organizations, tell our story, and invite other staff to join me in this endeavor. We are doing great things in Pocahontas County Schools. If you would like us to attend your local meeting, please contact me.
Working together, we will make a difference in the future of Pocahontas County.
