Please spread the word to your friends, neighbors and fellow community members that we are on a Non-Traditional Instruction Day, Monday December 15th. Students will complete Day 1 of Snow Packets from home. They can use the 10 am to 12 pm virtual office hours to reach out to their teachers via email or Teams. Additionally, please note Math Field Day will be Tuesday, December 16th if schools are on a regular schedule.

Monday, December 15 is a non-traditional learning day, and students are expected to complete Day 1 of their snow packets. Marlinton Elementary staff will be available from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM to assist with questions. Teachers (Pre-K–5th grade), Special Education, and Related Arts can be reached through Microsoft Teams or email. Staff contact information is available on our school website. Students can access Teams by visiting the Pocahontas County Schools website, clicking Student Quick Links, selecting Microsoft 365, and signing in with their WV SSO account. The program will begin at 5:30 PM with the elementary performance, followed by the middle school performance. Elementary students should arrive by 5:00 PM to get lined up. Middle school students should arrive by 5:30 PM to support the elementary students.

Marlinton Elementary pickup will begin at 1:30 PM, and buses will depart at 1:40 PM.

Due to potentially hazardous weather conditions, Pocahontas County Schools will dismiss two hours early on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. All after-school activities and events are canceled. Individual schools will contact parents with updated dates and times for rescheduled events. Buses will depart from the high school at 1:21 p.m. Thank you for your understanding and support as we navigate winter weather conditions.
We are excited to announce that Marlinton Elementary and Marlinton Middle School will be combining for one Christmas Program tomorrow evening. The elementary performance will begin at 5:30 PM, and students should arrive at 5:00 PM. The middle school performance will follow immediately after.
