As many of you know, Pocahontas County Schools has already used all 5 Snow Days and 5 Non Traditional Instruction (snow packet) days for this school year. In addition, students missed 3 extra days that must be made up in the school calendar.

As approved by the PCS Board of Education on 2/17/2026, our current make up plan is:

🗓 Make-Up Days:
March 30, March 31, and April 1

➡️ If additional days are needed, they will continue on:
April 2, April 3, and June 15

We appreciate your patience, flexibility, and continued support of our students and staff! ❄️📚

📚 Professional Learning Day Spotlight!

Today, our staff participated in the I Love U Guys® School Safety training, led by the West Virginia Department of Homeland Security at Pocahontas County High School. This important session helped ensure that all of us are prepared, informed, and unified in our commitment to keeping students safe.

After the countywide training, teams returned to their individual schools to review and strengthen their own safety plans—working together to support a safe, secure learning environment for every student.

We’re grateful for our dedicated staff and partners who help make safety a top priority every day. ❤️🏫💛

Shoutout to First Citizens Bank for providing donuts for our staff to start the day off right! 😍

She’s kind, loving, compassionate and a problem solver.  She’s a pal to many and loved by all.  She’s Dana Cutlip, our part time counselor at GBEMS.  What a better time to celebrate Ms Dana than during National Counselors Week!  🎉❤️👏
